The power of life and death are in the tongue
The power of life and death are in the tongue
I am alive! I am healthy! I feel great! I look good! My body moves like I want it to. I have no pain. I am excited to see what the day will bring. I always have a smile on my face, a kind word at the ready for whomever is in my path. I see the good in all things. I am stable in any circumstance. I believe God is going to do something great to me today and thru me today. I may not be where I want to be but thanks to God I’m not where I used to be. I’m ok…and I’m on my way!
Spiritual Warfare
these verses are adapted from AMP, KJV, NLT
I am under attack when:
- When I start straightening objects
- When I zone out
- When I feel agitated
- When I feel my eyeballs can’t hold still on a single word
- When I feel I need to rush
- When I become very busy with all the minutiae detail
The Lord fights with those that fight with me. I take hold of my shield of faith and stand up for help from God and His HS! I pull out my double edged sword, which is the Word of God, and block the way of my enemies.
The Lord is my deliverance!
The Lord causes my enemies, who rise up against me to be defeated before my face. They shall come out against me one way and flee before me seven ways.
I put on the full armor of God so that I am able to stand up successfully against ALL the schemes, ALL the strategies and ALL the deceits of the devil.
For my struggle is not against flesh and blood but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly supernatural places.
Therefore, I put on the complete armor of God, so that I am able to resist successfully and stand my ground in the evil day of danger, and having done everything that the crisis demands, I am able to stand firm in my place, fully prepared, fully immovable, and fully victorious!
So I stand firm and hold my ground,
- I tighten my wide belt of truth around my waist…that I am chosen by God
- I put on my breastplate of righteousness, that I have been made right by the blood of Jesus Christ
- I strap on my feet the gospel of peace to face the enemy with firm-footed stability and my readiness produced by the good news.
- Above all, I lift up my shield of faith with which I extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
- And I put on my helmet of salvation,
- and I wield the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.
- With my prayer and petition of my specific requests
- at all times, on every occasion, and in every season I have the help of the Holy Spirit
- I stay alert with all perseverance
- and I intercede in prayer for my kids, my grandkids, & all God’s people.
For the weapons of my warfare are not physical weapons of flesh and blood, but they are mighty before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds.
In as much as I refute arguments and theories and reasonings and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the true knowledge of God; and I lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ, the Messiah, the Announted One.
- A stronghold is an area in which we are held in bondage due to a wrong way of thinking
- Examine what is in your mind. If it does not agree with God’s Word, then cast down your own thoughts and think God’s thoughts (Word) instead.
- In order to do this, you must know God’s Word well enough to compare your thoughts with what is in the mind of God.
- 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 teaches us our weapons are not carnal, but are mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds in our mind.
- “Casting down” of the stronghold, requires us to use our offensive weapon…the Word of God…coming out of our mouth.
- When we speak it, it becomes a two-edged sword that defeats the enemy with one edge and opens the blessings of heaven with the other.
- There are many other weapons that are defensive, but the Word of God is offensive. It chases the enemy, driving him back.
The Power of Speaking The Word Of God Outloud
these verses are adapted from AMP, KJV, NLT
The Word of God is sharper than any two edged spear dividing my soul and spirit, my joints and marrow, and it discerns the thoughts and intentions of my heart.
I have good success and prosperity in all areas of my life because I meditate on God’s Word day and night and do what it says to do.
You have heard these things foretold, now you see this fulfillment. And you will not bear witness to it? I show you specified new things from this time forth, even hidden things kept in reserve which you have not known. They are created now called into being by the prophetic word; and not long ago, and before today you have never heard of them, lest you should say, Behold I knew them!
JM’s Life Point on Isaiah 48 (all):
- Notice the basic principle of God’s method of operation: first He declares things; then He does them.
- This principle explains why God sent the prophets. They spoke God-inspired, God instructed words that brought forth God’s will from the spiritual realm into the natural realm on earth. Jesus did not come to the earth until first the prophets had spoken about Him for hundreds of years. God operates on spiritual laws that He has set in place’ and we cannot ignore them.
- “Sowing and reaping” is an example of a law that operates in the natural earth, but it also operates in the spiritual realm. We sow material seed, and we reap material blessings of all kinds. Words are also seeds. We sow word seeds and we reap according to what we have sown.
- God wanted stubborn Israel to know that it was He Who was doing great works in their lives, so He announced them ahead of time. What was the end result? The things God declared came to pass. His Word is always true, and He always does what He says He will do.
For as the rain and the snow come down from the heavens, and return not there again but water the earth and make it bring forth and sprout that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater.
So shall God’s Word be that goes forth out of my mouth; it shall not return void or useless, but it shall accomplish that which God pleases and purposes, and it shall prosper in the thing for which God sent it.
Abraham believed in the God Who gives life to the dead and speaks of the non existent things that He has foretold and promised as if they already existed. (Romans 4:17)
JM’s Life Point on Romans 4:17
- Take a positive look at the possabilities of the future and speak of those things that are nonexistent as though they do exist.
- Think and speak about your future in a positive way according to what God has placed in your heart, not according to what you have seen in the past or are seeing now in the present.
- He has a great future for you. Believe it and confess it!
Imagine 21’s Affirmation Formula
- speak the future with vivid, emotion, as if it’s already happened.
- Angels hearken to the Word of God and they are everywhere! Read this encouraging insight from JM on angels.
- The things you confess MUST be in God’s Word…not just whatever you want. Confessing God’s Word is not a way to get our own will accomplished but rather, the will of God.
- When you believe and confess God’s Word you are setting yourself in agreement with God for His plan to come to pass in your life.
- You can not defeat your own “giants” with your mouth shut…just like David who did not defeat Goliath with his mouth shut.
Then David said to Goliath…
“You come to me with a sword and a spear and with a javalin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied! This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand and I will strike you down and cut off your head! I will give the dead bodies of the hosts of Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel and that all this assembly may know that the Lord saves NOT with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord’s and He will give you into our hand!” (1 Samuel 17:45-47)

Praise to You, God! For You are good; I sing praises to Your name, for You are gracious and lovely!
I seek and crave God as my soul’s first necessity, and I am found by Him.
I seek my happiness in God, and He gives me my heart’s desire. I give myself to God; I trust in Him, and He helps me; He makes my righteousness shine like the sun at noon.
God has good thoughts and plans toward me. He intends for me to have peace not evil and He gives me hope in my final outcome.
I find God, when I seek Him with all my heart and with all my soul.
I know the secret of the sweet, satisfying companionship of God, because I revere and worship Him, and He shows me His covenant and reveals its deep, inner meaning to me.
God is good. He is a strength and stronghold in my day of trouble; He knows and understands me because I take refuge and trust in Him.

Power Thoughts
these verses are adapted from AMP, KJV, NLT
#1: I can do whatever I need to do in life through Christ.
I set my mind and keep focused, habitually, on the things above, the heavenly things, not on things that are on the earth which have only temperal value.
God gives me more and more grace through the power of the Holy Spirit to defy sin and live an obedient life that reflects my faith, gratitude, and my salvation.
God did not give me a spirit of timidity, cowardice, or fear. God has given me a spirit of power, love, and of sound judgement & personal discipline. I have abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind. I have self-control!
In all these things, I am more than a conqueror. I gain an overwhelming victory through Jesus who loves me so much that He died for me.
In obedience to God’s Word, I write my vision and intentions out, so that the devil and all his evil demons reading it will run from me.
I can do whatever I need to do in life today, through Christ Who empowers me. I am ready for anything. I am equal to anything. Through Him, Who infuses inner strength into me. I am self sufficient in His sufficiency.
#2: God loves me unconditionally.
